Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 2576 sheep comprising 677 Cast Sheep and 1889 Prime Lambs another heavy show of Lambs forward with the whole sale averaging 46.8kg which reflected on today’s Average of 157.7p. Well Bred Export lambs still easy sold however Heavy and Plainer Types would be less money. Top Price of the day was £82 on two separate occasions, Firstly for a pen of Beltex’s off Messrs J Hodge, Dykes Farm and then a pen of Texel’s off Messrs John McFadzean & Co, Broadshean Farm. Top Price Per Kilo was 195.2p for another pen of Texel’s off Messrs John McFadzean & Co, Broadshean.

A much bigger show of Lambs forward with powerful sheep still well bid for.  Top Prime Lamb of the day was £107 for a superb Texel off Miss Eve Currie, Fisherton and topping per kilo was 204.7 pence for a very smart Texel off Messrs S & L Dunlop, Bennan (Straiton).

The whole sale averaged 185.7 pence per kilo or 186.9 SQQ.

Lambs with power still very easily sold, however, handy weights would be less on the week.  Top prices of the day was £109 for a fantastic Suffolk off Messrs W & R Baird, Dalhowan Farm (Crosshill)or 230 pence per kilo for a smart pair of Texels off Messrs R McMillan, Lawhill Farm. 

The whole sale averaged 207.9 pence per kilo.  SQQ average 210.1 pence per kilo.

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 1490 Sheep comprising 1268 Prime Lambs and 222 Cast Ewes and Tups. Today was our Annual Show and Sale of Prime Texel Lambs held in Conjunction with the Scottish Texel Sheep Breeders Club and was Kindly Sponsored by Macmin. Our Judge Today was Mr James Nisbet (Snr) Sorn Mains (Butchers) who awarded the Champion to Messrs J & R Semple, Netherton (Dalrymple) who also won the Suffolk Show Last Week. The Champion Lambs Scaled at 44kg and fetched for £128 or 290.9p being bought by the Judge Mr J Nisbet.

Messrs Craig Wilson ltd Sold 917 Sheep Comprising of 677 Spring Lambs and 240 Cast Sheep. Today was our Annual Show and Sale of Prime Suffolk Lambs held in Conjunction with The West and Central Scotland Suffolk Sheep Club and was Kindly Sponsored by Shearwell and McCaskie Farm Supplies. Our Judge Today was Mr J McFadzean, Dalduff Farm (Crosshill) who Awarded the Champion to a Regular Consigner of Quality Lambs Messrs J & K Semple, Netherton Farm (Dalrymple)  for a pen of Beautiful 48kg Which realised £117 Per Head or 243.8p, being Bought by the Judge Mr J McFadzean.

The Reserve Champion was Awarded to Mr A Currie, Fisherton for a Smart pen of Weight Lambs that Fetched for £95 or 231.7p and bought by Mr A Argo. The 48 Prime Suffolk’s Show Lambs forward Averaged 218.3p.

Lambs sold much better than expected with Heavy Lambs sharper on the week. The whole sale Averaged 215.9p or SQQ 220.1p. Mule Ewes Reached £69.50 for a Pair off Messrs Baird, Dalhowan, Whilst Blackfaces Peaked at £60.50 for a pen off Mr J Fisher, Lagg.
